NYR #1

December 26 has always been my New Years Day. I can't help it, I'm so glad the craziness and pressure of Christmas is over.

I love Christmas. This is kind of a new thing for me. It's always been the hardest holiday for me, but the last few years it's gotten better and this year my family was actually shocked that I was the one pushing to get the tree up and listen to the music and all that. And actually like it.

That said, damn, I'm glad it's over. December 26 is definitely one of my favorite days of the year. Maybe my favorite. It always feels like a clean start.

Of course I start thinking about resolutions. So here's my first one:

NYR #1 -- Do One Thing At A Time

Yeah. That's tough for me. I'm constantly trying to do more than one thing at a time and I never finish anything because I'm so sure I have to get the next thing done. Except I don't finish that either.

So I'm going to slow down. Focus on the one thing I'm doing and do it completely. Even if it's a little thing.

Really this is about slowing down and listening to myself. Which is what all my resolution's are going to be about. I find myself spinning and lost most of the time and I only have myself to blame.

I love this one. Does this mean I need to clean the house after all the festivities before I play? Because that really does suck.

Have a great morning!

Happy December 26! At first I thought you wrote, "It's like a clean shirt," but I thought that sounded pretty good, too!

That is a great resolution--all the technology fights against us doing that.

I'm considering having a certain amount of each day "unplugged." I think that would help on just doing one thing at a time.

Good luck!

Excellent goal! I should adopt this one myself.

I'm happy that it's over too -- and I like your resolution. I might add it to my resolution list...

Now that's a resolution that I should have... Christmas is great - but the day after is a little like coming home from vacation. It's nice to be back and back to normal (whatever that means!)

Ever since you began this quest to attend more last summer, it's been on my mind too. This is a really good resolution.

It's funny, Christmas was better for me this year too. Normally I am yanking down ornaments with a vengeance by today, but they're not bugging me this time...

I'm with you. Always happy when the hustle-bustle-hurry-scurry of the season comes to a close. I'm not all the way there yet, one more evening of playing family, but then I've got the all clear to give you the high five!
